The nonprofit Conway Center offers family business leaders educational programming and resources, peer group opportunities, social and networking events, and an annual awards program. Komar  Industries, Inc. designs and manufactures solutions for waste processing applications specializing in Hazardous Waste, Waste to Energy, Industrial Waste and High Volume Corrugated Processing.  Larry Koenig founded Komar Industries, Inc. in 1978, after having begun his own waste equipment distribution business in Iowa in 1971, known as Recycling Systems & Equipment.  In addition to founding Komar, Larry also started a recycling and transfer center in 1980, and purchased a waste hauling company in 1982.  In 1984, Larry divested his interests in these companies, and moved to Central Ohio to better position Komar for the Eastern and Midwestern industrial corridor opportunities. Komar Industries has over 130 U.S. and Foreign Patents. Larry became CEO and semi-retired in 2007, turning over the day-to-day operations to his son, and company president, Mark Koenig.  First generation family member Debra Koenig is the company secretary, and third generation family member Dutchen Mitchell is working in marketing.
